Biography
I aim to use my research and data analysis skills to help clients create more impactful strategies, fostering positive change in the world.
I am currently working on EdTech : Estimating the impact of educational television on children’s literacy, social-emotional learning and gender attitudes. My role involves design of the survey instruments, data quality checks, report writing and training of the field team.
Before Busara, I worked at the International Livestock Research Institute, under the Animal and Human Health department where I conducted systematic meta analysis of papers involving zoonotic diseases. After the COVID pandemic, continuous monitoring of zoonotic diseases was a necessity. We analysed various literature in the past to look at methods used in detecting zoonotic diseases through surveillance systems, different types of zoonotic diseases such as avian influenza and brucellosis and their methods of transmission. Projects involved in at ILRI were:
- Preventing the next pandemic; Program Evaluation for Zoonotic Disease Preparedness: This project builds on recent work examining the role of human – wildlife interactions and risks of zoonotic emerging infectious diseases to identify areas for monitoring and evaluation of risk and to build resilience in international health systems.
- Surveillance and Incentives Project: We worked on One health: The role of Surveillance and Incentives in detecting emerging diseases. I was involved in literature review for the cost of culling policies as well as the burden of diseases like avian influenza, Brucellosis, and the total cost of eradicating these diseases.
