Biography
I am passionate about creating inclusive, people-centered workplaces where purpose and performance go hand in hand. I believe that meaningful change starts when organizations treat people as their greatest asset—and I continually explore how behavioral science, data, and empathetic leadership can shape better systems, drive engagement, and build cultures that sustain impact. I’ve seen the power of aligning strategy and people to unlock growth and resilience across diverse contexts in Africa.
At Busara, I am the Senior Manager – People & Operations, leading and supporting people and operations initiatives that strengthen both internal systems and partner-facing solutions. My work focuses on improving HR structures, designing equitable reward frameworks, and embedding behavioral science into talent management, leadership development, and DEI strategies. I contribute to shaping our internal people practices to ensure that our culture reflects our values of Curiosity, Togetherness, Purpose, and Respect. A key part of my role involves building organizational capability and streamlining operations to drive efficiency and embed sustainable, people-centered practices across the organization.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Nairobi, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM and executive certification in Training of Trainers from the College of Human Resource Management (CHRM). Further, I have specialized in safeguarding and accountability through the CHS Alliance’s IQTS certification on investigations into Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment. In addition to my academic qualifications, I actively engage in HR professional networks as a Full Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), where I have served as Chairperson of the Benevolent Fund and Vice Chairperson for the Nairobi SouthWest Branch.
Before joining Busara, I held global and regional HR leadership roles at organizations including the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Magnate Ventures, and Webtribe Ltd, where I developed and executed people strategies across Africa, Asia, and Europe. As Global HR Partner at CHAI, I supported cross-functional teams in over 20 countries, leading the design and implementation of multi-country HR policies, DEI initiatives, and leadership development programs. My work contributed to a 50% reduction in workplace incidents and measurable gains in policy adherence and team cohesion.
In addition to in-house leadership roles, I’ve served as an HR Consultant for purpose-driven organizations, advising on talent management, change leadership, and the design of equitable HR systems. With over 15 years of experience, I bring a strategic yet grounded approach to building resilient, inclusive, and people-first organizations.
