Samantha Bastian, Busara’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), is assuming the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the long-planned departure of previous CEO Chaning Jang.
In her time as COO, Samantha Bastian has been an integral part of Busara, driving key initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting the organizational core values of acting with curiosity, respect, togetherness, and purpose. The CEO role will see her manage the organization’s internal operations as well as external stakeholders and partners all aimed at ensuring a seamless transition during this period of change.
“I am very excited to continue and expand my work,” said Samantha Bastian. “But as the interim CEO, I won’t be doing this alone. The executive team, the leadership team, and our collective alignment as an organization are critical to the success of this transition and we have all worked for months to make sure that this is going smoothly.”
In a set of celebrations, Busara staff extended their gratitude to Chaning Jang for his years of service, leadership, and invaluable contributions to Busara. The Busara board has been conducting a search for the new CEO over the past few months and is expecting to announce an appointment shortly.
