Biography
Glenn Ogolah
Associate, Financial Inclusion

I am deeply committed to addressing the root causes of the various structural challenges facing Kenyans, particularly poverty. At Busara, I focus on inclusive finance, exploring how digital financial services and platforms can economically empower marginalised groups. I strongly advocate for research’s pivotal role in uncovering structural issues and influencing behavior, thereby guiding the design of policies and products to better serve people’s needs.

Previously, as a Growth Manager at Sava, I synthesized customer feedback into actionable insights for the engineering team. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science from Durham University.

I work on a range of projects focused on understanding the usage and adoption of digital financial services and their impact on livelihoods across different population segments—from smallholder farmers to micro-enterprises. My current work involves a study examining how retail trade platforms are transforming micro-enterprises by enabling them to purchase stock through digital tools, and what this means for their income growth and overall business resilience. Previously, Glenn gained extensive experience driving startup growth across a range of industries, including finance, retail and logistics.
