Biography
In an era where technology continually reshapes our lives, young people play a pivotal role as both its primary users and its innovative creators. Fortunately, I’m based in a region where a large portion of the population is youthful. However, the majority of this youthful population lacks the skills to use technology optimally or succeed in the job market. This highlights the significant negative impacts of a failing education system.
As a Senior Analyst at Busara, I care about designing interventions that will ultimately strengthen education systems, drive better outcomes for learners, and ensure they are job-ready as they transition into youth. I also care deeply about the dynamic factors that hinder youth employment in the Global South and explore what better-skilling approaches we can provide to empower youth to either secure jobs or create opportunities for themselves and others. Some of my work includes improving the quality of primary education in public schools in Zambia through teacher-centered interventions, encouraging youth to engage in self-directed work in job markets that increasingly demand green skills, and improving technology adoption for sustainable livelihoods among farmers in Indonesia.
Beyond my work at Busara, I volunteer as a youth lead at World Leaders of Today, where I advocate and amplify youth involvement in biodiversity conservation and promoting sustainable livelihoods. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Nairobi.
