Biography
Salamatu is a Research & Advisory Analyst at Busara leveraging behavioral science research methods to assess the potential of e-pharmacy chains in meeting family planning needs in Lagos, a project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the e-Pharmacy for Family Planning Consortium.
Salamatu specializes in various socio-economic research, including science and technology development, healthcare systems development, modern agricultural development, climate change, public policy research, and intervention design. She is proficient in data science tools like Python and R, utilizing research methodologies like randomized control trials, and design of experiments to transform data into actionable insights that address pressing development challenges.
Salamatu’s passion extends beyond professional pursuits, encompassing causes like gender equality, social justice and inclusion, government accountability, and civic engagement. She actively volunteers with NGOs, including the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community utilizing social enterprise innovations and solutions to tackle these critical issues.
Beyond her research expertise, she possesses experience in policy analysis and project management gained through roles at the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria Commission (DAWN Commission), and the Kwara State Government Office for Sustainable Development Goals.
