Biography
Salome Njambi is driven by a deep commitment to using evidence and research to create more equitable and effective solutions for underserved communities. She is passionate about translating insights from research into meaningful change, and often asks: how can we design and implement projects that not only respond to local needs, but also shift systems for the better? She envisions a world where evidence is not only generated but embedded into systems that empower communities to thrive.
As part of the BRACE team, she plays a key role in implementing projects across Sub-Saharan Africa and serves as a primary liaison with partners and investigators. In addition to her project leadership, Salome has successfully led diverse teams and actively mentors junior staff, fostering talent and strengthening capacity within the organization.
She is currently working on a randomized controlled trial, conducted through a research-practice partnership between Busara and Ubongo, that explores how contextual storytelling, effective demonstration of SEL and reading strategies, and caregiver engagement, build confident and curious readers. The study employs a unique “encouragement scheme” to design control and treatment groups in a naturalistic setting.
