Biography
I’ve learnt early in my life that it is hard to make the world a better place, however, it is not impossible. I believe that taking a scientific approach through evidence-based research and understanding human behaviour would help in tackling the problems that we intend to solve and create a sustained impact.
At Busara, I work in the inclusive finance portfolio focused on researching products and services that are intended to contribute towards economic development of low-income and marginalized communities. One of the projects that I’ve worked on was to understand the impact of digital platforms on the financial and business operations of micro-enterprises in Kenya, India and Bangladesh. I’m currently involved in extending this research work to understand its impact on small-holding farmers and small-scale traders in Nigeria. In addition to these, my project work involves expanding access and usage of mobile merchant payments in Uganda.
Prior to this, I have worked at Western Digital and IBM. I hold a masters in Behavioural and Economic Science from the University of Warwick (UK), a postgraduate certification from the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women (India) and a bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham (India).
