What is Busara’s voice?

Busara does not have one voice: it has many. Busara’s Voice and Impact team champions diverse approaches and voices in applied and interdisciplinary behavioral research, so that these voices can be heard on the global stage. In doing so, our ambition is no smaller than doing our share to engage with the people to whom our work matters, change the knowledge ecosystem, contribute to public debate, and influence practice. We aim to do this in two ways: through a culture of internal and external knowledge-sharing within Busara, and by growing Busara as an organization that publishes and promotes its work and learning in diverse ways and outputs. We seek to do this guided by six principles:

• Creativity and honesty: Busara outputs are creative, surprising, thoughtful, and honest.
• Engagement: Busara engages in the relevant conversations through events, commentaries, exchanges, and relationships.
• Contribution: In publishing Busara’s work, we seek to do justice to the input of our respondents; acknowledge that we are part of a larger history and network of knowledge creators; and play our part in building a research ecosystem in the Global South.  
• Diversity: Busara works with a variety of methodological approaches, voices, viewpoints and ways to communicate. Within this variation, we always work with the ethical principles that guide our research and organizational policies.
• Awareness: Busara promotes awareness of the importance of engaging and contributing to knowledge.
• Consistency: Busara publishes and promotes consistently.
