Biography
Charity Okaba
Project Associate

Within the Behavioral Science for Governance (BeGov) cluster at Busara, I have the opportunity to witness firsthand how targeted interventions can significantly improve outcomes in various areas that matter to partner organizations and the communities they serve. I particularly enjoy engaging directly with a wide range of stakeholders, from clients to research participants, and I find great value in the iterative process of transforming ideas into tangible, actionable strategies.

In my current role, and drawing on over six years of hands-on experience in both research and capacity strengthening initiatives at Busara, I lead the design, planning, and execution of project activities while collaborating with partner organizations to diagnose challenges and co-create innovative, tailored solutions that enhance their processes and programs. I coordinate complex project workflows and ensure delivery within time, financial, and human resource constraints. I also manage cross-functional project teams, coordinating experts to deliver high-quality work.

My previous work spans research in governance as well as broader domains, including public health, education, and financial inclusion, in both field and laboratory settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Development Economics from Makerere University, Kampala, and remain deeply interested in the intersection of behavioral insights and development economics, particularly their potential to drive systemic change in governance and civic engagement.
